Zoom, the video conferencing platform, has taken a big leap forward in AI capability with the release of Zoom IQ, their new AI assistant tool. At the Enterprise Connect event, the company unveiled a variety of new features for Zoom IQ, such as the ability to craft messages in a conversational style, getting email advice based on prior interactions, and constructing meeting recaps.

Smita Hashim, Zoom’s Chief Product Officer, commented, “We are thrilled to offer more features through the use of larger language models. Our unique approach to AI will give our customers the freedom they desire and help strengthen collaboration and customer relations.”

With the AI upgrade for Zoom IQ, the aim is to make a myriad of tasks on the platform easier, allowing users to spend less time on the small stuff and more time on the important stuff. Hashim said, “By speeding up these small chores, we gain more than just time. We unlock greater creativity and collaboration for ourselves and our teams. With Zoom IQ taking care of the little things, you’ll have the time to concentrate on the big stuff: the relationships you build with your colleagues and the service you provide to your customers.”

In September 2021, Zoom first unveiled its AI features in response to the pandemic. This caused a surge in the demand for a wide range of features such as an expanded whiteboard service, automated translation tech, tools for hybrid workplace video calls and hotdesking.

With its AI upgrade, Zoom is still providing users with the resources they need to work smarter and more efficiently. Thanks to Zoom IQ, users can now anticipate more efficient meetings, more effective communication, and improved customer relations.
