Guinness is set to experience a significant boost in the production of Guinness 0.0, thanks to a €25 million investment in a new facility at the St James’s Gate brewery in Dublin. The investment aims to meet the escalating demand for the non-alcoholic beverage, both domestically and globally.
The newly constructed production facility features six additional processing vessels, providing a combined capacity of nearly 90 million pints. All worldwide production of Guinness 0.0 currently takes place at the St James’s Gate brewery, catering to key export markets such as the UK, Europe, US, Canada, Middle East, and South Korea.
Since its launch in 2021, Guinness 0.0 has witnessed continuous growth in demand within Ireland. Guinness predicts that this non-alcoholic alternative will eventually contribute to 10% of all Guinness trademark sales within the country.
Barry O’Sullivan, the Managing Director of Diageo Ireland, expressed his satisfaction with the success of Guinness 0.0, highlighting its position as the top-selling non-alcoholic beer in both Ireland and Britain in the four-pack format. O’Sullivan sees the expansion of production capacity at St James’s Gate as a testament to the product’s quality and the overall growth of the non-alcoholic beverage sector. He anticipates that Guinness 0.0 will become another flourishing export success for Ireland.
