The AWS Startup Loft is a fantastic opportunity for Irish start-ups to connect with other founders, investors, and AWS experts to help grow their businesses. Amazon Web Services (AWS) opened the hub in their Dublin office to provide free co-working spaces to early-stage companies.
The Loft is equipped with all the essentials for entrepreneurs, such as open seating, phone booths, WiFi, and coffee. Talks with venture capitalists, legal and accounting firms, and AWS experts are also regularly held to further support these start-ups.
Minister of State for Trade Promotion, Digital and Company Regulation, Dara Calleary, TD, launched the hub on 28th March in the AWS Dublin office in Charlemont Street. He believes the space will be key in aiding the success of Irish start-ups by providing them with a platform to test, pitch, and build their networks.
Mike Beary, the AWS Ireland country manager, sees the hub as the perfect forum for founders to collaborate, interact with investors, and scale up their businesses. He encourages start-ups to “think big” and make the most of the space.
One of the Irish start-ups already utilizing the hub is Vyra. Vyra is a Start-up of the Week which assists organisations in shifting employee attitudes towards climate action through accessible learning and gaming. Co-founder Eoin Le Masney believes the Loft has been invaluable to Vyra and has allowed them to meet mentors, investors, and solve problems with AWS experts. He is certain the hub will be a major factor in the company’s early-stage success.
